5 Collabs That Shifted Cali’s Culture — The Last One Was Straight-Up Legendary

It’s been over seven years since culture became our driving force to imagine a better world. Along the way, we’ve witnessed—and taken part in—a cultural movement in Cali that’s immersive, diverse, vibrant, and alive, where creative minds come together—and keep coming together, against all odds—like magnets weaving powerful and inspiring collective projects.

Writing these lines gives us goosebumps. Looking back, we’re proud of the collaborative work behind each of these milestones, driven by creative energy and solid project management.

See how we took the lead.

Beauty Is Biocultural at COP16

In 2024, Cali had the honor of hosting an unforgettable COP16. It was a milestone where we teamed up with Colombia’s Ministry of Culture on the ‘Biocultural Territories’ strategy. With the spirit of the COP16 in full effect, we designed and rolled out ‘Beauty Is Biocultural’—a campaign that lifted up the deep connection between cultural practices and the biodiversity of the Colombian Pacific. Through collective actions with local artists, we created moments that truly hit different, like the first augmented reality mural in Cali.

GLEO’s Mural

2024 had us climbing walls—literally. Alongside the Circuito Gráfico Foundation in Cali, and with support from Fontur and the Cali Secretariat of Culture, we dreamed up, managed, and brought to life a mural that has become a cultural landmark on the Bulevar del Río Cali. Thanks to the unmistakable talent of GLEO, the piece honors the role of women in Cali’s society, highlights the importance of gender equity, and adds to the city center’s growing cultural tourism scene.

Pacific Design Festival

Back in 2018, a casual hangout between colleagues sparked what would become the only design festival in Cali and its surrounding region. That’s how the Pacific Design Festival –EFEDEPE– was born: a platform that’s now six editions strong, boosting the region’s creative ecosystem. This milestone was made possible by pure love for design and the drive of talented folks like Pablo Ledesma and Vicky Avendaño (Velové Branding House), Simón Londoño, and many other brilliant minds who’ve watched this dream grow from the ground up.

Cali City of Media Arts

In 2019, UNESCO recognized Cali as a Creative City in Digital Arts—a milestone that confirmed the city's potential for creative development with a cultural focus. Once again, in a powerful graphic collab with Velové Branding House and Simón Londoño Estudio, we developed the visual identity for Cali City of Media Arts: a brand with bold presence and Cali-style sazón that now represents the city in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network worldwide.

Let’s Save La Linterna

In 2017, a nearly forgotten relic crossed our path: La Linterna, a printing house with decades of traditional knowledge, preserved by masters Olmedo Franco, Héctor Otálvaro, and Jaime García. Among movable type and vintage presses, La Linterna held a vital piece of Colombia’s graphic heritage.

In a swift collective move, we joined forces with Fabián Villa, a cultural organizer from Cali, and local artists—María Paz Vélez, Víctor González, Juan Murillo (Eslabón Perdido), Alejo Gómez, Erick Ortega (Calidoso), among others—to bring the Let’s Save La Linterna campaign to life, proving that in Cali, tradition is protected through collective creation.

Today, La Linterna is more than a print shop—it’s a living hub for graphic arts, open to the world.

Let’s own the next milestone

Each of these collaborations proves that the common good is truly collective. If you have an idea or project that can contribute to Colombia’s cultural ecosystem, let’s talk, plot, and make it happen.
